David Pulley Releases “I Remember U”
David Pulley's passion for music was evident from a very young age. Growing up in a large family with 11 siblings, David found solace in music and it quickly became his outlet. The sounds of Andrae Crouch, Walter Hawkins, Richard Smallwood, Percy Bady, and Fred Hammond played a significant role in shaping David's musical journey. He began writing poetry as a child and used it as the foundation for his songwriting.
David's talent for music was recognized by his mother who encouraged him and his sister to take music lessons. Initially, David took up drum lessons, but it was his interest in the piano that led him to switch to the Hammond organ. His talent on the organ quickly earned him the role of teacher's assistant, and he started playing for his home church when he was just 12 years old.
Roberta Clark, David's music instructor, recognized his potential and asked his mother if she could mentor him as a church musician at a large church on Chicago's Southside. It was during this time that David honed his songwriting skills and started practicing his compositions with the youth choir at his home church, Prayer Band Pentecostal. His early works were well-received in churches, and David continued to refine his craft by attending workshops and seminars by industry greats like Ron Winans, Michael Brooks, John P Kee, and the Gospel Music Workshop of America.
After 40 years of serving as a church musician, David decided to release his inaugural single, 'I Remember You' in 2022. The single is a tribute to his mother who passed away in 2012 and features recording artist BJ McKenzie. David's second single, 'Bow To You,' is a prayer for God's guidance in these challenging times and is performed by lead singer Tysings and The Epoch House Choir from Nigeria.
David Pulley's love for music has taken him on a remarkable journey. He has used his gift to uplift and inspire people through his songwriting and performances. David's music continues to resonate with listeners worldwide, and his contributions to the music industry have cemented his place as a respected artist and musician.
